On 1/17, a South Broad Street resident reported to the police that someone attempted to break into her vehicle overnight. When she arrived at her car this morning, she noticed that the keyhole and handle were bent and loose. If a suspect is identified, they will face appropriate charges.

On 1/17, a resident of Woodbury Heights reported that her vehicle had been stolen. The victim explained that a member of the household asked for a ride. When she declined, he took her keys and drove away with her vehicle. The vehicle was then entered into the NCIC as stolen. Approximately two hours later, the Camden Metro Police recovered both the vehicle and the driver. The vehicle was removed from the NCIC, and the man was charged with motor vehicle theft. A court date is pending.

On 1/18, officers were dispatched to T-Mobile regarding a dispute. Employees reported that a customer became irate when he learned they could not assist him with an issue related to his broken phone, and that, due to company policy, they could not remove the SIM card from the device. In frustration, the customer punched his phone, which was sitting on the counter, and yelled profanities. As he was leaving, he spat at the employee, and the saliva landed on his shoe. The employees did not wish to file complaints but requested that the customer be trespassed. The customer was identified and informed that he was no longer welcome inside the store. He was advised that if he returned, he would be charged with trespassing. No further assistance was needed.

On 1/19, a resident of Prince Street reported that someone stole his vehicle while it was warming up outside. The vehicle has been entered as stolen in the NCIC database. The incident is still under investigation.

On 1/19, a resident of Beech Avenue was charged with disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance inside the home. A court date is pending.

On 1/14, a resident of Queen Street was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension, disorderly conduct, breach of peace, and trespassing after officers responded to the residence for an assault report. The court date is pending.

On 1/14, a resident of Woodbury Heights reported that he sold his vehicle in October and accidentally left his EZ Pass inside it. Someone is now using the pass, and he is being charged for it. The current charges amount to $98.65. The victim was informed about how to obtain a copy of the report to send to EZ Pass.

On 1/14, officers responded to a shoplifting incident at CVS. Employees reported that a woman entered the store, filled a shopping cart with $123.00 worth of merchandise, and left without paying. They provided a description of the woman as well as the license plate number of the vehicle she entered. On 1/16, detectives contacted the owner of the vehicle, who identified the suspect by name. The woman, a resident of Myrtle Avenue, has been charged with shoplifting, and a court date is pending.

On 1/15, a Curtis Avenue resident was issued a summons for obstruction when she gave a false name to officers. The court date is pending.

On 1/16, officers were dispatched to Woodbury High School for a disturbance. The caller reported that two men had an argument, and one shoved the other, causing him to fall. The incident remains under investigation.

On 1/11, a resident of Westville was observed crossing South Broad Street from Aldi to the Police Department, which caused traffic to slow and come to a stop for him to cross. There is a crosswalk located nearby for pedestrians to cross safely. A summons was issued, and he was sent on his way.

On 1/12, a resident of East Barber Avenue was charged with simple assault following a domestic incident that occurred at the home. The court date is pending.

On 1/12, during a traffic stop, the driver-a resident of Wenonah-was found to have a suspended driver’s license and several outstanding warrants. The issuing municipalities granted release on recognizance (ROR) with new court dates. The driver was issued traffic summonses for unclear license plates, failure to present a driver’s license, driving with a suspended license, and operating a vehicle without a license. On 1/13, officers responded to Towne Liquor for a shoplifting incident. Employees reported that a male stole $220.00 worth of alcohol. This incident remains under investigation.

On 1/13, a Woodbury resident was charged with contempt of court for violating the terms of a temporary restraining order (TRO) that had been granted earlier in the week. A court date is pending.

On 1/8, a Bridgeton resident was charged with simple assault and obstruction following a domestic incident at a South Broad Street residence. The court date is pending.

On 1/8, a resident of Woodbury was charged with simple assault due to menacing behavior that caused a disturbance outside a residence on Lincoln Street. The court date is pending.

On 1/9, officers responded to Lukoil regarding a cell phone theft. An employee reported that his cell phone, which he kept behind the counter, was stolen. The replacement cost for the phone is $1,200. The phone has been entered into NCIC as stolen.

On 1/9, a resident of Pennsauken was issued summonses for driving with a suspended license and lacking insurance. The driver also had a warrant out of Stratford. Stratford granted an ROR, and the driver was released with a new court date.

On 1/10, a Wenonah resident turned himself in on an active warrant. The warrant was confirmed, and the male was handed over to the U.S. Marshall’s office. No further police assistance was required.

On 1/10, a Deptford resident was issued a summons for consuming alcohol in public after officers observed him sitting at the bus stop drinking the alcohol. A court date is pending.

On 1/4, while patrolling the area of S. Evergreen Avenue, officers were approached by a pedestrian. The man explained that while he was waiting for his mother to return to Colonial Park Apartments, he had gotten into an argument with another male. Neither party wanted to file a complaint; however, officers provided instructions on how to do so should they change their minds. The individuals were advised to avoid any contact with one another to prevent future issues.

On 1/5, officers were dispatched to Family Dollar in response to a report of shoplifting. Employees stated that a male and a female entered the store at different times. After a few minutes, both individuals headed for the exit, triggering the security detector. They then got into a waiting vehicle and drove away. Employees were able to provide descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle. The incident is currently under investigation.

On 1/6, officers were dispatched to Wawa in Woodbury Heights in response to a shoplifting incident. Employees reported that three individuals entered the store: an older female and two juveniles, one male and one female. The female juvenile placed several items into a Wawa bag and left without paying. The employees provided descriptions of all the suspects and the vehicle. On 1/9, the vehicle’s owner was identified along with her son. Wawa chose not to file complaints but requested that the individuals be banned from the store. The suspect was informed that she, her son, and her son’s friend were prohibited from returning to the store and would face trespassing charges if they did.

On 1/6, a Woodbury resident reported to police that her ex-boyfriend was harassing her. After speaking to the judge, a TRO was granted.

On 1/7, summonses for failure to register rental units were issued to property owners/landlords on Hunter Street and Hessian Avenue. Court dates are pending.

On 1/2, a resident of Deptford received summonses for driving without a license and failing to use turn signals. Additionally, she had an outstanding arrest warrant. The issuing jurisdiction accepted her bail, and she was released with a new court date.

On 1/2, a property owner on S. Barber Avenue was issued a municipal ordinance violation for failing to resolve the sewage odor coming from the property. A court date is pending.

On 1/3, the director of Loud Labs reported an employee theft. The director confirmed that the employee was terminated, and police were called immediately after. The male, a Penns Grove resident, was charged with theft. The court date is pending.

On 1/3, a Swedesboro resident was charged with criminal mischief after causing damage inside Giant Fitness. Court date is pending.

On 12/28, officers responded to an apartment on South Broad Street following reports of a possible fight. The resident was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to surrender controlled dangerous substances to the police. The resident’s guest was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both individuals also received summonses for municipal violations, including creating a disturbance in a rental unit and failing to comply with the rental unit’s regulations. Court dates are pending for both parties. The landlord and property owner were notified of the incident and issued a warning letter.

On 12/28, a resident of Cherry Street reported a theft of services. The victim stated that they paid a deposit in September to have their fence replaced. However, as of December 28th, the contractor stopped returning their calls and removed their Facebook account. On 1/6, detectives charged the owner of Blue Water Contracting LLC with theft by deception, failure to register the business with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs as a contractor, and failure to display their license number on contracts. A court date is pending.

On 12/29, a resident of Woodbury reported to officers that she had lent her vehicle and cell phone to a friend on December 26, and he had not returned them. The vehicle was subsequently entered into the NCIC as stolen. On December 30, Gloucester City Police advised they had located the vehicle in their jurisdiction. It was parked, unoccupied, and without keys. The owner was notified but did not have a spare key. The vehicle was removed from NCIC and towed by Gloucester City Police.

On 12/29, officers were dispatched to the Wawa on N. Evergreen Avenue in response to a shoplifting incident. Employees reported that a female entered the store and stole $25.00 worth of merchandise. Although the employees did not want to file a formal complaint, they requested that the incident be documented.

On 12/30, a resident of Paulsboro was charged with simple assault and violating a final restraining order. The individual was transported to Salem County Jail, and a court date is pending.

On 12/31, officers were dispatched to Wawa on N. Evergreen Avenue to respond to a report of simple assault. Employees stated that while they were serving another customer, one customer in line became upset due to the wait. This individual continued to argue with the employee and then slapped her before leaving the store. The suspect, who resides on N. Evergreen Avenue, was identified and charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, and breach of peace. A court date is pending.

On 12/26, a resident of Deptford reported an attempted burglary of his trailer, which was parked on Woodland Avenue. The victim informed the police that someone used bolt cutters to remove one of the locks. At this time, the victim believes that nothing was stolen from inside the trailer. The incident is currently under investigation.

On 12/26, a resident of Woodbury reported that four unknown juveniles entered the area from West Deptford by using a trail located at Sanderson Way and Myrtle Avenue. These juveniles vandalized the property by throwing a park bench into the lake, knocking over Christmas decorations on a resident’s lawn, and pulling Christmas lights off a resident’s banister. They left the area the same way they entered. The incident is currently under investigation.

On 12/27, a resident of Somerdale was issued summonses for driving while her license was suspended and for having an open container of cannabis. A court date is pending.

On 12/27, a resident of Woodbury reported feeling harassed on Facebook by her cousin. She requested that the information be documented for now. The resident was informed that a report would be created and that she could request a copy from the Records Department. No further police action was necessary.

On 12/22, officers were dispatched to CVS in response to a report of shoplifting. Employees reported that a male and female entered the store, filled a basket with various items, and left without paying. The employees were able to provide the police with a description of the vehicle and the vehicle’s license plate number. This incident remains under investigation.

On 12/22, Woodbury officers assisted Paulsboro Police by translating for police and a driver suspected of DUI.

On 12/23, a North Evergreen Avenue resident was issued summonses for public consumption of alcohol and possession of an open container after being observed drinking beer while walking along Aberdeen Place. A court date is pending.

On 12/23, a Woodbury resident was charged with receiving stolen property after not returning a borrowed vehicle from the previous day. A court date is pending.

On 12/24, during a traffic stop, the driver was found to have two outstanding warrants for her arrest from Camden City. Camden City granted a ROR and she was released with a new court date.

On 12/24, a S. Woodland Avenue resident was issued an abandoned vehicle warning. Officers will follow up in 10 days.
