On 11/20, a resident of Walnut Avenue was charged with assaulting a police officer after law enforcement was called to the home to resolve a dispute. A court date is pending.
On 11/20, officers were dispatched to a residence on West Street. Upon arrival, the caller reported that someone had damaged his vehicle overnight. Officers observed damage inside the vehicle, indicating an attempted theft. This incident is currently under investigation.
On 11/21, a resident on East Centre Street reported that her delivered package had been stolen. Currently, there are no suspects.
On 11/21, an Inspira employee informed officers of a harassment complaint. An ex-employee has been appearing at both the Mullica Hill and Woodbury locations to harass staff. He was uncertain about the interactions but needed the incidents documented.
On 11/22, officers responded to a residence on N. Evergreen Avenue regarding an assault. The caller reported that she had a falling out with a friend earlier that day. This friend returned tonight, broke into her home, assaulted her, damaged her television, and stole her Beats headphones. This incident is still under investigation.
On 11/22, a resident on S. Broad Street reported that her vehicle had been stolen. She indicated that the vehicle was parked behind her home. The vehicle was entered into the NCIC as stolen. Several hours later, officers received a delayed inquiry indicating that the vehicle’s license plate had been checked the day before by Virginia State Police for having no registration, and the vehicle had been towed. It was discovered that the man driving the vehicle was the victim’s ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
