On 9/20, a West Deptford resident received a traffic summons for obstructing public streets by crossing S. Broad Street on his bicycle, causing vehicles to brake to avoid hitting him. Court date is pending.

On 9/20, a resident of Camden was charged with hindering apprehension, resisting arrest, possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS), possession of prescription legend drugs, aggravated assault on a police officer, and refusing to submit to fingerprinting after providing a false name during a pedestrian stop. The suspect also had an active warrant for his arrest from Camden City. He was taken to Salem County Jail, and a court date is pending.

On 9/21, while conducting directed patrol on S. Broad Street, officers saw a male who they knew had an active warrant for his arrest enter Towne Liquors. The officers approached the individual and informed him that he was under arrest. Upon searching the individual incident to arrest, the officers found that he was in possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS). The issuing municipality, Haddon Township, released the individual on his own recognizance (ROR) for their warrant and provided a new court date. The individual was charged with possession of CDS. The court date is pending.

On 9/22, a kind citizen located a cell phone near a bush on S. Broad Street and turned it in as found property. The owner is unknown at this time. The phone was placed into evidence for safekeeping.

On 9/22, officers were called to Acme regarding a shoplifting incident in progress. Employees reported that two men had entered the store, filled a cart with $269.65 worth of merchandise, and left without paying. Upon arriving, the officers found the suspected vehicle still in the parking lot with both suspects inside and the stolen merchandise in the back. The stolen merchandise was returned to Acme. The owner of the vehicle, who happened to be one of the suspects’ fathers, approached the officers to inquire about the situation. After explaining what had happened and questioning why he didn’t intervene, the father said he can’t tell his son what to do. Both men were charged with shoplifting, and court dates are pending.

On 9/23, a Delaware Street resident was charged with possession of CDS and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Court date pending.

On 9/23, a Walnut Street resident was charged with DUI, refusing to provide a breath sample, disorderly conduct, and breach of peace. Court date is pending.

On 9/24, the owner of Good Deal Transmission contacted the police to report a suspicious incident that occurred during the overnight hours. The owner explained that an unknown male entered the gated property by climbing the fence. The male walked around, lifting car door handles, and entered a few vehicles; however, there was nothing of value inside, so he moved on. This incident remains under investigation.

On 9/24, during a traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver had a warrant for his arrest and did not have a driver’s license. Haddonfield, the issuing municipality, granted the individual release on his own recognizance (ROR) and provided a new court date. The driver was issued a summons for driving without a license and advised that he could not operate the vehicle until he obtained a valid license. The court date is pending.
