On 7/22, officers responded to CVS for a report of shoplifting. Employees stated that a male subject had walked out without paying for a soda. The male was located and admitted to taking the soda because he was thirsty and had finished it, so he could not return it. CVS declined to file charges, and the subject was released. He was advised that he was no longer welcome in CVS. No further police assistance was required.

On 7/22, a Deptford resident was arrested and charged with possession of CDS, failure to deliver CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of a traffic stop on N. Evergreen Avenue. Court date pending.

On 7/22, a Blackwood resident was issued summonses for Breach of Peace, possession of an open container of alcohol, and public consumption of alcohol after she was observed walking toward Lot 323 and drinking a beer. When advised that she was not allowed to drink alcohol while walking the streets, she became irate and began yelling and cursing, causing a disturbance. The court date is pending.

On 7/23, the Camden County Police Department arrested a Woodbury Heights resident with an active warrant and turned him over to the Woodbury Police Department. All necessary paperwork was completed before being transported to Salem County Jail. A court date is pending.

On 7/23, officers were dispatched to the Acme parking lot for a report of a counterfeit $100 bill. The caller explained that he towed a vehicle to a charging port and received the fake bill from the customer as payment. When he realized the bill was counterfeit, the customer apologized and settled the payment using a credit card. The customer appeared genuinely surprised and claimed to have received the fake bill as a tip earlier in the day. The counterfeit bill was handed over to the police, and all individuals involved went their separate ways.

On 7/24, officers responded to a complaint at a residence on West Street regarding an abandoned vehicle. The property owner has been attempting to get his tenants to address the issue of an unregistered vehicle with a flat tire. A warning letter has been sent to the tenants, and officers will follow up in 10 days.

On 7/24, officers responded to Towne Liquors after receiving a report of two women physically fighting on the sidewalk. Both women were uncooperative and continued to fight in the presence of the police. As a result, both women were placed under arrest and charged with Simple Assault, Obstruction of Administration of Law, Resisting Arrest, Breach of Peace, and Disorderly Conduct. Additionally, one of the women was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon after using a box cutter to cut the other person’s leg during the fight. Court dates for the charges are pending.

On 7/24, a resident of Delaware Street was arrested and charged with simple assault, possession of cocaine, and failure to deliver CDS to police as a result of a domestic incident that occurred inside the residence. The individual was turned over to the Sheriff’s Department and transported to Salem County Jail. A court date is pending.

On 7/25, during a traffic stop, it was learned that the driver had warrants for his arrest. All issuing jurisdictions granted ROR (Release on Own Recognizance). Before being released, he was issued summonses for unclear plates and tint. The court date is pending.

On 7/25, during a motor vehicle stop, it was discovered that the driver had an active warrant for his arrest out of Cherry Hill. Before being handed over to the Cherry Hill Police Department, summonses were issued for possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to provide insurance, and failure to provide registration. A court date is pending.

On 7/26, officers were called to the Child Development Center regarding an unwanted person. Staff members reported that an unidentified male was sleeping on the slide, preventing the children from being able to go outside and play. The officers woke the individual and informed him that he had to leave. They also warned him that if he returned, trespassing charges would be filed.

On 7/26, officers patrolling Lot 323 observed a male sitting at a picnic table and drinking alcohol. They informed the male that he was not allowed to consume alcohol in public areas. The vodka was disposed of, and the male was issued summonses for consuming alcohol in public and for possessing an open container of alcohol. A court date is pending.

On 7/26, officers responded to a shoplifting incident at CVS. Upon arrival, the officers located the suspect in the Lukoil parking lot. The woman, a resident of Egg Harbor City, admitted to stealing from CVS. She was placed under arrest and found to be in possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) and CDS paraphernalia. The stolen items, totaling $451.00, were returned to CVS. Before being released, the woman was given summonses for shoplifting, possession of CDS, possession of CDS paraphernalia, failure to deliver CDS to police, and receiving stolen property. Court date is pending.

On 7/27, while patrolling the Glassboro Road and Evergreen Avenue area, officers observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. During the motor vehicle stop, officers noticed that the plates attached to the vehicle were fictitious. The vehicle was towed, and the driver was issued summonses for speeding, fictitious plates, unregistered vehicle, no liability insurance, creating a risk of an accident, and fraudulent registration and temporary license plates. A court date is pending.

On 7/27, officers responded to a business on S. Broad Street for a broken window. The owner was contacted and informed of the incident. The owner advised he would send someone to board up the window so no one would get hurt by the broken glass. The estimated cost to replace the window is $1500. Currently, no suspects have been identified.

On 7/28, officers were dispatched to CVS for a shoplifting incident. The suspect was located and arrested. The stolen merchandise, totaling $100.00, was returned to CVS. Summonses for shoplifting and littering were issued to the female suspect, an Atco resident, who was also banned from CVS. She was informed that she would be charged with trespassing if she returned. A court date is pending.

On 7/28, officers patrolling the Glassboro Rd and Asam Ave. area spotted a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker from 2021. Upon pulling the vehicle over, they discovered that the driver had an active warrant for their arrest. The issuing municipality released the driver on their own recognizance with a new court date. Additionally, it was found that the driver’s license was suspended, and the vehicle’s registration had expired. The driver was given summonses for driving without a license, driving with a suspended license, failing to inspect, and having an unregistered vehicle. The court date is pending.
