On 1/1, a Swedesboro resident was charged with DUI. Officers observed the subject driving in the wrong direction on Route 45, resulting in a traffic stop. A court date is pending.

On 1/2, CVS employees contacted the police to report a shoplifting incident that had just taken place. A man and a woman entered the store, put $370.00 worth of merchandise into a bag, and left without paying. The officers in the area quickly responded and arrested the two suspects. The stolen merchandise was returned to the store. The suspects are facing charges of shoplifting, receiving stolen property, and obstruction. The court date is pending.

On 1/2, police officers were dispatched to a residence on Myrtle Avenue in response to a noise complaint. Upon arrival, the officers could hear loud music coming from the apartment. After knocking and identifying themselves as police officers, the occupants still refused to answer the door. The female tenant was visible, standing at the door. The music volume was eventually lowered, and officers left the scene. The tenant was later identified and issued a summons for playing loud music, with a court date pending.

On 1/3, a resident of Myrtle Avenue reported that a package delivered to their home had been stolen from their front steps. The victim stated that the package was delivered in the morning and was missing when they checked later in the afternoon. Officers provided the victim with some suggestions to prevent this from happening again in the future and made a report of the incident. Currently, there are no suspects.

On 1/4, a property owner on Prince Street received a Municipal Ordinance summons for failure to register as a landlord. Court date pending.

On 1/5, police were called to the Wawa on Evergreen Avenue for an unwanted person. When officers arrived, they saw a male who had been banned from the property before. The male was given a summons for trespassing and warned not to come back. Court date pending.

On 1/6, employees at CVS reported a shoplifting incident. A woman entered the store, picked up a prescription, then proceeded to an aisle where she removed merchandise from the shelf. She left the store without paying. The woman was later identified as a resident of West Deptford. She was charged with shoplifting, parking in a fire lane, failure to inspect her vehicle, and having window tint that was too dark. The woman was sent a letter advising her to report to the police department to be fingerprinted for her charges. However, she failed to report to the police department and was subsequently charged with refusal to submit her fingerprints. Court dates are currently pending.

On 1/7, police officers were dispatched for the second time to a residence on Queen Street due to a noise complaint. The officers were already familiar with the residence, as several calls for noise complaints had been made before. Upon arrival, the tenant/resident was arrested and charged with Maintaining a Nuisance, Breach of Peace, Disorderly Conduct, Obstruction of Administration of Law, and Loud Noise. Additionally, the property owner was issued summonses for Occupancy Standards. The court date is pending.
