On 1/15, police officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Hopkins Street. The victim left her car running outside the Woodbury Variety Deli and an unknown man drove off with the car. The car and the male suspect were found in Camden the following day. The man was identified as a 55-year-old resident of Glassboro and was charged with motor vehicle theft. He was then taken into custody and lodged in the Salem County Jail on another jurisdiction’s warrant. Court date pending.
On 1/16, while on patrol officers observed a male laying on a bench in the Evergreen Square shopping center. The male has been advised several times that he is not allowed on the property. A trespass summons was issued. Again, officers offered resources and assistance which he declined. Court date pending.
On 1/17, a Woodbury resident contacted police regarding unauthorized purchases made with her debit card. The victim supplied officers with a list of fraudulent purchases and has already contacted her bank. The incident remains under investigation.
On 1/18, a municipal ordinance violation was sent to a Boundary Road property owner for selling a property without first obtaining a certificate of occupancy.
On 1/19, a Philadelphia resident was charged with Careless Driving and Failure to Produce Documents after hitting a parked vehicle. Court date pending.
On 1/20, a resident of Deptford was charged with Criminal Restraint, Terroristic Threats, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon due to a domestic incident that took place near Bell Lake Park. Court date pending.
On 1/21, a Sewell resident was issued a summons for Expired Registration. Due to the expired registration and being parked on Glassboro Rd for an extended period of time, a 48-hour abandoned vehicle notice was placed on the vehicle.
