On 1/4, while patrolling the area of S. Evergreen Avenue, officers were approached by a pedestrian. The man explained that while he was waiting for his mother to return to Colonial Park Apartments, he had gotten into an argument with another male. Neither party wanted to file a complaint; however, officers provided instructions on how to do so should they change their minds. The individuals were advised to avoid any contact with one another to prevent future issues.
On 1/5, officers were dispatched to Family Dollar in response to a report of shoplifting. Employees stated that a male and a female entered the store at different times. After a few minutes, both individuals headed for the exit, triggering the security detector. They then got into a waiting vehicle and drove away. Employees were able to provide descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle. The incident is currently under investigation.
On 1/6, officers were dispatched to Wawa in Woodbury Heights in response to a shoplifting incident. Employees reported that three individuals entered the store: an older female and two juveniles, one male and one female. The female juvenile placed several items into a Wawa bag and left without paying. The employees provided descriptions of all the suspects and the vehicle. On 1/9, the vehicle’s owner was identified along with her son. Wawa chose not to file complaints but requested that the individuals be banned from the store. The suspect was informed that she, her son, and her son’s friend were prohibited from returning to the store and would face trespassing charges if they did.
On 1/6, a Woodbury resident reported to police that her ex-boyfriend was harassing her. After speaking to the judge, a TRO was granted.
On 1/7, summonses for failure to register rental units were issued to property owners/landlords on Hunter Street and Hessian Avenue. Court dates are pending.
